Roatan Honduras
LA DIOSA DEL SOL
La Diosa is on Politilly Bight on Roatan's north shore, halfway down the spine of the island.
But I Don't Want to Cook ....

Cooking and light housekeeping services are available at La Diosa upon request.
Grocery Stores

French Harbor, about 15 minutes from the villa, has two very large U.S. style grocery stores. ELDON'S has a great selection. The Bulk Gourmet (www.thebulkgourmet.com), also in French Harbor has a wonderful collection of specialty food items. If you would like fresh fish, let us know ahead of time and our caretaker can arrange to have the local fishermen (like Samuel, bringing lobsters to Miss Maud at La Diosa!) bring by their catch of the day.
Entry Documents

You need a valid passport to enter Honduras valid for at least 6 months past the date of travel.
Getting to Roatan

There are nonstops from Houston and Atlanta in the US, Sunwing in Toronto, and Milan, Italy. You can also reach Roatan from the Honduran mainland and San Salvador. They fly directly into Roatan's international airport.
Getting to La Diosa

Our Property Managers will greet you at the airport and escort you to La Diosa, with a grocery stop along the way!
Currency and Credit Cards ...

Credit cards are accepted by most retailers and attractions, but beware: many add up to 15% EXTRA for the use of credit cards. Ask! Dollars are accepted everywhere. ATMs are available, though somewhat unreliable, and also have additional fees.

Map of Roatan ATMs

The local currency is the lempira and the exchange rate is usually around 19 lempira to the U.S. Dollar.
How's the Weather?

You can travel light and casual to Roatan .... The average temperature is 80 degrees farenheit, with constant trade winds. (La Diosa has wonderful northerly breezes all year!) Rainy season tends to be November through January, though these months can be beautiful as well.
Got Kayaks?

La Diosa has three ocean kayaks in the beach house - paddle, fish, snorkel, swim! We have set buoys to tie onto for exploration or just chilling.
What Should We Pack....

We have a packing list we send our guests. If you would like a copy, please send us an email at
roatanvilla@hotmail.com and we will be happy to oblige.
Snorkel and Scuba

Great snorkeling off the dock or kayak, and Subway Watersports will pick you up off the dock to snorkel or scuba. Nice!
Should We Rent a Car?

We do recommend you rent a car, and we can recommend several reliable companies to you. You can also hire a cab or van for day trips.
